Turn Shafts

Turn shafts that snap directly into the accessory opening of full-size SANKYO 18-note musical movements, driving crank style assemblies, orbital motion rods, and metal disc turntables for animated music box projects.

Drives multiple accessories – Used to power crank style assemblies, orbital motion rods, and metal disc turntables.
Two shaft types available – Choose the correct shaft to match your accessory's attachment style.
Important: Once installed, the shaft cannot be removed.

Note on compatibility: Accessories that fit turn shafts will not fit the winding key shaft, and vice versa — each accessory lists which shaft it requires.
A) SANKYO Threaded Shaft – Used with most accessories. Extends approximately 1/4" (6mm) from the movement when installed.
B) SANKYO Smooth Shaft – Used with accessories fixed by a set screw instead of threads. Extends approximately 7/16" (11mm) from the movement when installed.
