Socket Assembly & Lamp Wiring Guide
- Place steel washer, rubber washer & locknut onto end of threaded rod.
- Insert threaded rod into your lamp base.
- Add a rubber washer & locknut to top of threaded rod.
- Tighten against top of your base finger-tight.
- Slip vase cap, neck, harp base & socket bottom onto threaded rod & tighten finger-tight.
- Run lamp cord up through threaded pipe as shown in illustration below.
- Make an electricians' knot to prevent wire from being accidentally pulled loose.
- If necessary, carefully strip 3/4" of insulation from end of lamp cord.
- If ends are not tinned, twist each section tightly.
- Wrap the wire with smooth insulation clockwise around the brass "hot" terminal screw.
- Tighten screw.
- Wrap the wire with ribbed insulation clockwise around the silver "neutral" terminal screw.
- Tighten screw.
- If using a shell-type socket, press cover securely into socket's base.
